Foundation Announces Three New Awards
The foundation has three new awards to announce this month:
- A grant to New York Live Arts, to help fund the production of Left of Canvas, a multimedia/performance work by Maeko Productions (Richmond, Va.). Left of Canvas is inspired by the life and work of American lesbian painter Romaine Brooks.
- A grant to On the Road Productions (New York, N.Y.), to help support the production of the documentary film Forgetting the Many: The Royal Pardon of Alan Turing. The film will focus on controversies raised by the 2013 posthumous pardon of British mathematician Alan Turing, who was convicted of “gross indecency” in 1952.
- A donation to the scholarship fund of the Lambda Literary Foundation (Los Angeles, Calif.), to help LGBT writers attend Lambda’s Writers Retreat in August 2014.
