Foundation Announces Two New Grants

Two performing arts organizations will receive production grants from the Arch and Bruce Brown Foundation during January:

  • Opera Fusion, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to help support the production of a new opera, Not in My Town, by composer-librettist Michael R. Ross. The opera, based on the events surrounding the death of Matthew Shepard, will have its world premiere in June 2016 during Gay Pride Month in Fort Lauderdale. Subsequent performances are planned.
  • Babes with Blades Theatre Company, of Berwyn, Ill., to help support the production of 180 Degree Rule, by M.E.H. Lewis and Barbara Lhota. The play, inspired by the pioneering female directors of early Hollywood, will have its world premiere at the City Lit Theater in Chicago this spring. For show dates and times, visit

The foundation extends congratulations to both recipients.
