New Grants Announced

The foundation is pleased to announce the awarding of two new grants:

A grant to Bluebarn Theatre, of Omaha, Neb., to help support its work in Omaha’s LGBT community. This month, Bluebarn is producing Standing on Ceremony, a set of short plays, by well-known gay playwrights, about same-sex marriage. Visit Bluebarn’s website for more information about the performances.

A grant, to be administered by the Center for Independent Documentary, to filmmakers Austin Bunn and Bob Hazen to cover post-production costs for their forthcoming documentary short, In the Hollow, about the 1988 murder of a lesbian hiker on the Appalachian Trail and the ensuing push for lesbian/gay bias-crime legislation. The film is expected to premiere later this year.
